THE BEST OF BRITISH

Not that it will surprise Baby Boomers. But for others it may be a little surprising that the number one selling album of the last decade, that is the best selling album thus far this century, was a compilation of all the Beatles' No. 1 hits.

Appropriate, the album is "1".

According to the sales tracking by Nielsen, the Beatles' hits compilation sold 11.5 million units, just beating out edging 'N Sync's "No Strings Attached," with 11.1 million. And yet the sound quality when compared to the recent re-masters is atrocious. Which just goes to show the power of the Beatles which is still as strong as ever and no matter how many time McCartney does something naff like appear of the X-Factor there is no way of diminishing the greatest back catalogue of the modern age.

The best of British - no doubt about that.

That was one of last years Xmas present for the wife. This year I bought her ALL the re-mastered albums. I get out a lot. Though got to admit the sound quality makes them sound a lot better.
