MAGAZINE WATCH

The latest four Commando books are now on sale - numbered 4223 -4226
The Big Game by Alan Hemus
Operation Jailbreak by Mike Knowles
Pirates of the Pacific by Ferg Handley
The Secret Invasion by Alan Hebden

All are priced at £1.30

This week's NME is a Beatles special in which the magazine reviews every single album in the remastered format. It's well worth buying as the quality of music journalism with the NME is always of high quaility. However the mag is published with 13 special covers and, no doubt, some Beatle nuts will buy all 13 issues - seems like overkill to me - there are 12 issues on sale in shops with different covers and the 13th cover, Magical Mystery Tour, is available in a limited amount and needs to be ordered from the NME website itself. The NME costs £2.30 - I can remember when it was 60p.

An interesting new part work comes from the Daily Telegraph - World War II Eyewitness Experience. Each issue will look at the war from 1939 - 1945 with some detailed articles and each issue will come with a facsimile edition of The Daily Telegraph from the period covered in that specific issue.

I will be buying every issue of this one as it's well put together and when complete should offer a exhaustive history of the conflict. The magazine also has a packed website HERE
